Last Friday we had a very successful art opening for Cambridge artist Nicholas James Juett at The Picasso Gallery in Washington D.C. The show features his new oil on canvas paintings of street façades of his home city, Dupont Circle and Georgetown. Juett uses his trademark vibrant colors to transform our perception of familiar locations. The title of each painting is the postcode of the street depicted, so that every painting in the series may be topographically situated on a map or on the Internet. Here you see the artist creating a map of Dupont Circle in front of the gallery. You can view his work at The Picasso Gallery until June 24.
